The local consumers’ committee’s female leadership will be considered by the Patan municipality in Baitadi.

According to the local government, women must hold the position of chairperson for initiatives run by the consumer’s committee during the current fiscal year.

The Municipality has already instructed wards to establish consumers’ committees by the middle of September and completely implement its decision to establish the committees with female leadership, according to acting mayor Kamal Singh Bohora.

“We have developed a policy that calls for the creation of local consumer committees with women serving as the chair, and we urge all parties involved to fully execute it.

We hope the decision will be helpful in encouraging women to get involved in development efforts and enhance their capacity and leadership skills.”
